Case Study

Opinion research has been successfully used by clients under different scenarios and to fulfill various objectives. Some such scenario has been discussed below:
  1. New product launch – A leading camera company in US launched a new digital camera model. The product was not doing well initially. The client ran a series of ads using a popular icon as model. The product saw an improvement in sales. The client was interested in understanding the linkage between the ad and improved response. The opinion research study showed that the overall volume of sentiments for the model of interest was very low initially. The time series analysis of opinions showed a marked increase in ‘chatter’ post the ad. Further, it also showed a marked improvement in positive sentiments, establishing a direct co-relation with the ad.
  2. New product design – A leading camera company had launched a camera model about a year ago. They wanted to introduce better variants of this model and wanted to understand the buzz around the various features of the camera. Feedback used its proprietary OR framework, to spot specific pain areas in the key features. These insights were very useful to the client in making significant changes to its new product design.
  3. Employee blog – A leading IT firm was aware that their employees blogged regularly in a few social sites. The firm was interested in analyzing these sites and understanding various issues being discussed by the employees. The firm was also interested in understanding various pain points (negative sentiments) expressed by the employees to take corrective measures. This was integral to the firm’s employee retention strategy. A sentiment analysis of the blogs was done using the opinion research analysis framework of Feedback. This was done at an issue level, so as to provide clear inputs on the negative sentiments and corrective action required.
  4. Analysis of internal data – A leading firm in the hospitality business was interested in analyzing its internal CRM data generated over a period of time. The data volume was large and needed to be analyzed under various heads to derive specific insights. Feedback used its opinion research platform to quickly parse the internal data and do a sentiment analysis which was of immense help to the client in re-positioning their services.

These are just few examples of how our opinion research platform can be deployed to analyze unstructured data. Please contact us for any of your specific sentiment analysis needs.
